Barbara J. Bass, nee Stanley, age 85, of Lombard for 27 years. A bookstore manager at Glenbard East High School for about 5 years during the 1960s. Member of P.E.O., an organization that supports education for women. Longtime member of the Christian Church of Villa Park, IL and Eureka Christian Church in Eureka, IL (where President Reagan went to college). Barbara was a well known resident of the Sunrise Assisted Living Center of Glen Ellyn, IL, for 4 years, and the past 7 years of the Elm Brook Healthcare and Rehab Center. She loved to play hand bells. Barbara was the hand bell choir director at Eureka Christian Church, and played solos for special occasions at church. Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Samuel M. Bass, Sr. Loving mother of Mary Ann (the late Randy) Davis, Samuel M., Jr. (Hope) Bass, and Joyce Bass. Devoted grandmother of Dawn and Matt Davis, Jim Bass, Allison Buck, Jeremy (Charlotte) Bass, Julie (Ben) Lopez, Josh Kohn, and Jennifer (Larry) Kmiec. Great-grandmother of Dominique, Carol, Jacob, Emile, Sarah, Trinity, Anna, Justin, Kaitlynn, and Emily. Fond sister of Mary Wherry, the late William Z. Stanley, Jr., and the late Margie Little. Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Memorial service 11:00 AM on Friday, October 1st at the Christian Church of Villa Park, 1336 S. Villa Ave., Villa Park, IL A luncheon will follow the service. Rev. Kerry Walker officiating. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Alzheimer?s Association, 225 N.
