Mrs. Eva. B. Bass
Mrs. Eva Bradford Bass, 73, of 2609 Shenandoah Ave., died Tuesday at her home after a long illness.
A native of Iredell County, she attended the Iredell County schools and Apalachian State Teachers College. She taught in the Iredell County schools for several years before moving to Durham.
She was a charter member of the Northgate Presbyterian Church and organized and directed the Northgate Week-Day Kindergarten for about 30 years. She retired in 1972. She also taught in the nursery department of the Northgate Sunday School and was a member of the church choir and active in the Women?s Work of the church.
Surviving are her husband, E.B. Bass, a son, Dr. E.B. Bass, Jr. of Charleston ,S.C.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ralph Lippard of Durham, and Mrs. Fred Crawford of Stateville; a brother, Robert L. Bradford, of Statesville; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Hall-Wynne Funeral Chapel by the Rev. E.J. Agsten and Dr. Orville Wintermute. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Statesville.
