Bass Jr. LINWOOD | Gray Allen "Winky" Bass Jr., 31, of Hayden Grove Church Road, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Health ? Lexington Medical Center. A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Piedmont Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Harold Smith. Burial will follow in Greer's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Bass was born Aug. 8, 1982, in Rowan County to Gray Allen Bass Sr., and Betty Jean Berrier Bass. He was of the Baptist faith and a former field officer for EnergyUnited. He was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, Edward Wade Berrier and Horace Grillus Bass; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Ingle Nance. Surviving are his mother, Betty Jean Berrier Bass, of the home; sister Samantha Cline and husband Ernie of Linwood; grandmother Betty S.
