Born in Antioch, Calif., he lived in Carteret for the past 35 years. He was the owner of Barch?s Junk Yard and Bass Mechnical. He was a communicant of The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Carteret. He is survived by his father, Robert Bass Sr. of California; his former wife, JoAnn Bass of Laurence Harbor; two daughters, Melany Bass of Sayreville and Dina Bass of Woodbridge; two brothers, Bobby Bass of California and John Cassidy of South Carolina, and a grand-daughter, Saide Domenick. He also is survived by his faithful dog, Sheba. A memorial funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at The Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 67 Fitch St., Carteret. Arrangements are under the direction of the Rumpf Funeral Home, 21 Locust St., Carteret.
