- Rev. Dale Bass
PAYNE ? Rev. Dale Bass, 76, of Payne, died Saturday, Feb. 13, at his residence. He was born Sept. 6, 1933, in Osborn, the son of Amanda June (Sharp) and Martin VanBuren Bass, who both preceded him in death. On Sept 27, 1952, he married Donna Phelps, who preceded him in death on March 23, 2004. He served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal in the Korean War and was a member of the NRA. He was a pastor of the Church of the Nazarene. He will be sadly missed by two daughters, Gale (Paul) Imboden of Payne and Ramona (Mark) Price of Antwerp; a son, Thomas (Stacy) of Marion, Ind.; grandchildren, Adam, Karen, Benjamin, Christopher, Jasmine, Zechariah Sabrina, Gavin and Jilayne; five great grandchildren; five sisters, Kay of Payne, Jewel Kurtz of Van Wert, Faith Mansfield of Helena, Julene Crawford of Payne, and Joy Gibson of Jackson, Mich.; and three brothers, Paul and Marty of Florida and Warron of Hamden. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Debra Jane and a granddaughter, Cynthia Dawn Imboden. Services were held at the Edgerton Wesleyan Church on Thursday, Feb. 18.
