Gillette Officer Is Wounded At Dance
Baker Bass in Critical Condition Following Stabbing

Stuttgart, Dec. 15.-Baker Bass, town marshall of Gillett, was brought to the hospital here this morning and tonight is in critical condition from knife wounds said to ?have been inflicted by Fred Martin at a dance near Gillette last night.
Marshall Bass requested Martin to leave the dance. It was said that Martin had been drinking and that as the offcer walked away the youth attacked him with a knife, inflicting several abdomen wounds.
A posse of officers who went ot Martin?s home in Gillett reported that the youth had barricaded himself in the house and they considered it inadvisable to attempt to arrest him.
Martin, who is a brother of Herbet Martin of Stuttgart, and Marshall Bass are said to have been close friends.
