  Notes	James Everett Bass served in the Tenth Georgia Infantry Battalion, Company E, the "Granberry Guards". Union recorder, Milledgeville, Georgia, February 19, 1889 J.E. Bass, Sr., of Americus has a beautiful cut-glass decanter which was bought by his father, Quincy Bass, in 1813, just after he was disbanded as one of the United States soldiers of the War of 1812. It is of French manufacture, and was used by Mr. Bass, Sr., to carry communion wine to his church on the sacramental day of the Lord?s Supper. It is a kind of a sacred relic in the family and money can?t buy it.
