A native of Mr. Holly, N.C., he was a retired machinist. He is survived by four sons, Burl B. Bass, of Chesterfield County, Edgar Bass, of Gardiner, Maine; William U. Bass, of Washington, and Roy C. Bass, of Mecklenburg, N.C.; there sisters, Mrs. Josie Lawrence, of Mooresville, N.C.; Mrs. Florence Jatton, of Charlotte, N.C. and Mrs. Retta Simmons, of Landis, N.C., and four grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M.
