Rev. J.T. Bass
Ocala - Rev. J. T. Bass, 87, passed away on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at Sylvia's Hospice House. He was born in Tarver, GA and moved to Ocala from Otter Creek in 1948. He was an Apostolic Pentecostal minister for 60 years. He was Pastor of Life Tabernacle for 31 years and traveled extensively for 23 years in church work. He was employed by Patterson-McGinnis Lumber Co., Ocala Manufacturing, Libby-McNeill & Libby and the City of Ocala Public Works as well as his being the Pastor of his church. He was a member of the Apostolic Ministerial Fellowship. He is survived by his daughters, Juanita Thompson and husband Bob of Ocala and Virginia Hardee and husband Joe of Orlando, his son, Pastor Wade Bass and wife Judith of Ocala, his daughter Janice Bass of Branford, his sons Kelly Bass of Wellborn, Craig Bass and wife Myra of Murphysboro, IL and Max Bass and wife Dawn of O'Brien and his eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Florice C. Bass in 2001 and granddaughter Melanie Bass. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Life Tabernacle, 2940 NE 35th St., Ocala with interment at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 6-9 PM. Arrangements by Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala.
