Ann Windham Bass
Ann Windham Bass of Laurel passed away on March 21, 2024 at the age of 94. Ann was born on Oct. 23, 1929 in Laurel.
She is remembered in the community for her years at Bass Studio, where she and her husband Jimmy touched so many lives through their photography business. A supporter of veterans, Ann promoted the Veterans Memorial Museum in Laurel whenever she had the opportunity. A doting mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was reminded of those blessings as she kept precious photos, drawings and other mementos in her Bible. Ann was a loving Christian and a member of Highland Baptist Church in Laurel.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents James Bond and Avis (Wilson) Windham; brother James Bond ?Buck? Windham Jr.; and sisters Josephine Windham, Bonnie Carter and Eleanor Smith.
Ann will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 75 years Jimmy Bass; and children Jim Bass (Diane) and Tim Bass. ?Granny? will be missed by her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of Ann Bass will be Sunday, March 24, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. with the service following at 2:30 p.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. Eric Estes with interment following in Ellisville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lance Bass, Blake Bass, Dusty Bass, Ross Bass, Ford Lofton and David Berry.
The family extends a special thank you to Jones County Rest Home for their loving care and compassion for our loved one, and your kindness to the family will always be appreciated. The family also expresses its gratitude to all the friends who helped with transportation, food and comforting words during these last few months. Many of those friends are volunteers at the Veterans Museum, and your kindness will always be remembered. Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church.
