Clarence Bass
Funeral services for Clarence Bass, 79, of 2715 Montana St., Apt. 64, who died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Hospital where he was admitted April 10, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stone Mortuary in Bartonville.
The Rev. John Schlenker of the Glasford Baptist Church will officiate and burial will be in lakeview Cemetery at Pekin.
Friends may call at the mortuary this afternoon and evening.
Mr. Bass, who formerly lived at Gardena, was custodian at the Pleasant Hill School for 10 years prior to retiring three years ago. Earlier he had worked for Altorfer Bros. Co. Born in Kinmundy Feb. 5, 1883, he was a son of Jasper and Adeline Crane Bass, and married Bessie Saylor at Pekin Nov. 3, 1928.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Leo Bass of Creve Coeur and Dean Bass of Peoria; one brother, Thomas Bass, also of Peoria; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Fay Lacy and Mrs. Phyllis Mixell, both of Peoria; one stepson, Lester Lightbody of LaGrange park; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.
