Mrs. Julius Preston Bass, Jr., is the former Miss Ellen Brooks Eason, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Brooks Eason of Stantonsburg. Her marriage to Mr. Bass, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bass, also of Stantonsburg, took place April 7 in Dillon, S.C.

Ellen Eason Bass, 91, of Stantonsburg, died Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Funeral, Stantonsburg Global Methodist Church, Tuesday, 11:30 AM. The family will gather in the fellowship hall beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment, Stantonsburg Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Bass who died in 2001; son, Gilbert Bass, who died earlier this year; grandson, Christopher Brooks Bass died 2005; parents, Alton Brooks and Mary Jackson Eason; son-in-law, Lee Smith, who died in 2022.
Surviving is her daughter, Donna Bass Smith of Elm City; son, Brooks Bass (Cindy) of Wilson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jack Yelverton of Eureka and Jane Britt of Fayetteville.
