  Notes	The Valley Times-News, Lanett, Alabama, Monday, October 30, 2000 Edgar O. Bass LANETT -- Mr. Edgar O. Bass, 76, of Lanett died Friday, Oct. 27, 2000 at his residence. Graveside services were held Sunday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at LaFayette City Cemetery with the Rev. Marc MacIntire officiating. Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Velta Buivids Bass of Lanett; five children, Mike Bass, Martha Bass, Ruth Kirk and Andrew Bass, all of Lanett, and Daniel Bass of North Carolina; and two grandchildren, Amy Bass and Joel Bass, both of Lanett. Born Sept. 25, 1924 in South Carolina, Mr. Bass was retired from the Post Office in West Point as the assistant postmaster. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. Jeff Jones Funeral Home in LaFayette handled arrangements.
