Russell Eugene Bass
Russell Eugene ?Russ? Bass, 32, Country Club Village, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 1991, at his residence. He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
Born in Blytheville, Ark., Mr. Bass lived most of his life in St. Joseph. He had been employed at Mead Products from 1975 to 1989 and had worked for the past year as a car salesman for Fairway Motors in St. Joseph.
Mr. Bass was a member of the First Baptist Church of Abilene, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis L. Bass.
Surviving: his mother and step-father, Sybilla and Robert Chesser of St. Joseph; a son, Lonnie Bass of St. Joseph; two brothers, Ronald L. and Robert L., both of St. Joseph; two sisters, Linda Post of St. Joseph and Roberta White of Elwood, Kan.
Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday. Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Visitation: after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight. The body will be cremated following the visitation.
