  Notes	The Oil City Visitor, Sour Lake, Texas, Wednesday, 31 May 1922 John Q. Bass John Quitman Bass died at 5 o?clock Saturday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jack Bishop. Mr. Bass was 67 years of age and is survived by his wife, four sons, and two daughters. The sons are Lee Bass of Sour Lake; T.J. Bass, of Houston; Frank Bass, of Hull; and J.Q. Bass, of Electra. The daughters are Mrs. Jack Bishop and Mrs. J.E. Middleton of Sour Lake. Mr. Bass was a native of Mississippi, but came to Texas when 18 years old, settling in Robertson County where he resided up to the time of his coming to Sour Lake about ten years ago. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o?clock, Rev. W.E. Wright, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating. Interment was made in Rosedale Cemetery.
