Robert B. Bass Passes: Rites Set Thursday
Services For Deceased Will Be Held At 10:30 A.M. From Tangipahoa Church
Funeral services for one of Amite county?s most useful and respected citizens, Robert Brown Bass, will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 from Tangipahoa Baptist church.
Mr. Bass succumbed to an attack of illness at his home in the Tangipahoa community at 12:30 Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, bringing mourning to a large and loving family and a great host of friends. He was 59 years of age.
Remains will lie at the home of his son, J.C. Bass, until time for last rites, for which Rev. A.W. Talbert, a former pastor of the deceased and now of Jackson, will officiate, with friends serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Bass had spent his entire life in the community in which his last illness occurred.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Freddie Bass; there sons, J.C., Raiford and James W. Bass, all of Summit; five daughters, Mrs. M. Hilton Moak, Summit; Mrs. Raiford Wells, McComb; Mrs. J.M. Johnson, Misses Madelone and Virginia Bass, all of Summit; one sister, Mrs. Edward Russell, McComb and many other relatives in the region.
Interment will be in the Whittington family cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of service.
