Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. today for Mrs. anne Boone Bass, 82, who died at her daughter?s home here Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Bass? pastor, Rev. Swade Benson of Peoples Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, conducted the service in the church. Rev. Jesse C. Beonist of Hamlet assited him. Burial was in the church cemetery. Grandsons were pallbearers. Mrs. Bass was born in Nash County on Jan. 3, 1883, the daughter of the late William Henry and Mittie Carpenter Boone. She was the widow of Frank Bass and a member of People?s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church near here. She had been a resident of Cobb?s Crossroads Community 30 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Elsie B. Parker of Rt. 2, Elm City, and Mrs. Bertha Thomas of Hamlet; a son H.C. Bass of Rt. 2, Elm City; foster sons C.L. Viverette of Wilson, 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
