Johnice Bass
Johnice Bass, 73, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trinity Fellowship Church North Ministry Center with the Rev. El Cantu, pastor, and the Rev. John Love, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Mrs. Bass was born June 1, 1936, in Stella, Okla., to John and Lois Wilson and raised in Norman, Okla. She graduated from Norman High School in 1954, and attended the University of Oklahoma. She moved to Amarillo in 1957 from Norman.
She married Clarence Bass on June 21, 1958, in Amarillo. She worked for ICX Freightlines as a payroll secretary until they closed the Amarillo terminal. She then went to work for AISD as the athletics secretary until her retirement on Jan. 1, 1998.
She loved her family, gardening and her roses. She loved being "Mama" to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Bass was a member of Hillside Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Clarence Bass; two sons, Mike Bass and wife Wanda and Jason Bass, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Gina Henry and husband Derrick of Amarillo; a sister, Joann Sanders of Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Christian, Madison, Jon Briton, Aaron, Reagan, Riley and Ryann. She also is survived by a large extended family and many friends.
The family will be at 6801 Achieve Drive.
