Townes and Son at 10:30 a.m., by Rev. J.N. Latham, interment taking place in Green Hill cemetery shortly thereafter. The body of the former Danville man accompanied by his son, Thomas E. Bass, Jr., of Raleigh, N.C., arrived from Norfolk at an early hour this morning. Mr. bass was overcome on Saturday afternoon by a sudden attack of heart failure. The pall bearers were D.T. Cook, E.T. Parham, C.L. Booth, T. Jeff Bass, A.M. Turner and W.H. Cousins. The flower bearers were I.T. Bendall, J.M. Ley, C.B. Strange, A.M. Thompson, E.C. Cadwallader, J.R. Hill, J.P. Shoffner and C.B. Davis.
