Mrs. Virgie Bass
Mrs. Virgie E. Cherry Bass, 84, of 30 Opal Road, Rossville, died Tuesday morning in a local hospital.
A member of the Mission Ridge Baptist Church, she was a lifelong resident of the Rossville area, and the widow of the late Pierce Bass.
She was a former employee of the Richmond Hosiery Mills.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Wann, Rossville, and Mrs. Bettie Ann Forester, Cartersville, Ga.; one son, Edward LeBron Bass Sr., Chickamauga; also nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ed Wadsworth officiating.
Interment will be in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park, with Drennon Chastain, Ernest Clark, Labron Forester, Sanford Ivens, Thomas Rainey, and Butch Wade serving as active pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Deborah Sunday School Class at Mission Ridge Baptist Church.
Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
