Franklin Jerry Bass

Franklin Jerry Bass, 81, passed away at his home in the Wade Community on November 15, 2025 and went to be with his Heavenly Father. Frank was born in Andalusia, Alabama on August 01, 1944. He graduated from Pleasant Home High School in Andalusia, AL and George Wallace Technical College in Dothan, Alabama. He worked for Page Aircraft in Ft. Rucker, Alabama before joining the work force at Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1971 where he was an Electrician Specialist in Test for 33 years. During this time, he served for ten years as President of the IBEW. Frank was a member of Wade Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and on various committees. He was a Master Mason and past Master of Pascagoula Lodge Number 202. Frank enjoyed gardening, tree grafting, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed sharing his vegetables and various fruits with his family and friends.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, J. Bennett Bass and Flara Rowell Bass; his son Franklin Scott Bass; brothers Bruce Bass, Ralph Bass, Edd Bass; sisters Eunice Bass Henderson and Hazel Bass Trawick.
Frank is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara Barton Bass; son, Stanley B. Bass of Ocean Springs, MS; brothers, Herman Bass, of Andalusia, AL and Coy B. Bass of Opelika, Al; sister Wavie Lee Bass Mims of Andalusia, AL; sister-in-law and husband, Dorothy Barton Herrington and Paul Herrington of Cumming, GA along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Deaconess Home Health and Hospice of Light for their kind and loving care of Frank during his lengthy illness. Also, a special thanks to Lana Adams who was a tremendous help during Frank?s last days.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Home in Moss Point, MS from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
Frank will be carried to Shady Hill Freewill Baptist Church in Andalusia, AL and a visitation will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Shady Hill Freewill Baptist Church from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm.
Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Michael McVay and Reverend Jeff Switzer officiating with special music by Jan Kinsaul. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Bass, Tom Henderson, Anthony Bass, Royce Bass, Timothy Switzer and Ben Bass. Interment will follow in Shady Hill Cemetery in Andalusia, AL.
