Joanna Bass, Deed of Gift To her children State of North Carolina
Sampson County: Know all me by these presents that I Joanna Bass of the County aforesaid for the good will I bear to my children before being joined in wedlock to Thomas Bullard I do give to my heirs first to my oldest son Reuben Bass, I give one colt and one Heifer and feather bed and furniture and one saw to be his right after my death likewise to my son Jenkins Bass I give one mare and two cows and calves to become his after me death or before if by my consent. This done & and assigned in presence of me this 11th day of August 1804.
