      David Floyd Bass

      David Floyd Bass, 77, who retired after 30 years with Trailsways Bus Line, died Monday, May 19, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Hayes "Dot" Bass. A graveside service with Masonic and Military Honors will be held at 11 a.m. EDT Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT today at Bevis Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice, 1723 Mahan Center Blvd., Tallahassee, FL 32308, or to the American Heart Association, 2851 Remington Green Circle, Tallahassee, FL 32308. A native of Doerun, Georgia, he moved to Tallahassee in 1964. An avid outdoorsman, he loved golf, hunting and fishing. He was a former member of Morroco Shrine Temple and a member of Marzuq Shrine Center and Robert Butler Lodge No. 305, F&AM. He was also a member of the American Legion and was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. Other survivors include two sons, Bob Bass (Jane) and Brad Bass (Vivian), both of Tallahassee; a sister, Becky Bass of Albany, Ga.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Bass Underwood (Bobby) and Christopher Bass; and a great-grandchild, Logan Bass.
