In addition to raising her children and watching her family grow, Flora loved to grow a garden. Whether it was the flowers in her yard, vegetables in her garden or tending the prayer garden at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, Flora cared for her plants with love and devotion second only to the nurturing love she always showed to her family. She was a member of Mount Gilead for more than 60 years, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir, and enjoyed providing fresh flowers for worship from her yard. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, followed by interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 17, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Mount Gilead Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
