      Roscoe Bass
      Clinton - Roscoe Bass, 46, died late Sunday afternoon while on duty as a policeman in Beaulville. Mr. Bass was a native of Sampson County and had lived in Clinton for a number of years. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Bass of Clinton. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the chapel of the Royal funeral home with the Reverend Mr. Baker and the Reverend Mr. McCorquodale officiating. Burial will follow in the Peterson cemetery near Spiveys Corner. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mamie Lee Bass, three daughters, Elizabeth, Mary Katherine and Rosa Pearl; three sons, Roscoe Jr., Willie Rubin, and Glenn Robert, all of the home; three sisters, Mrs. John Avery, Mrs. William Bradshaw and Mrs. W.O. Holland, all of Clinton; four brothers, Burnice of Parkersburg, Paul of Dunn, Cooper and Lester of Clinton.
