Dale Bass, 77
Dale Bass, age 77, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness. Dale was born on June 24, 1934, in Sarcoxie, Mo., the son of the late Richard and Edna (Pauley) Bass. He has been a lifelong area resident. He worked 30 years for Mckee Construction Company and then five years for SAM'S Club, retiring in 2005. He married Delores Fenn on April 13, 1954, in Diamond, Mo. She preceded him in death on Feb. 6, 2003. He was also preceded in death by three sons, Terry, Dale and Duane Bass; two brothers, Gerald and Ronnie Bass; and three sisters, Shirley and Shelia Bass and Charleen Long. Dale is survived by two sons, Derald Bass and wife, Jennifer, Joplin, and Rick Bass and wife, Denise, Joplin; one daughter, Debbie Stephens, Joplin; 15 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Sarcoxie Cemetery. James B. Lankford, Minister will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday prior to service time at Mason-woodard. Arrangements are under the direction of MasonWoodard Mortuary & Crematory.
