Sallie Blanche (Bean) Bass, age 95, of Surgoinsville, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, at Signature Healthcare of Rogersville. She was a member of Surgoinsville Freewill Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Surgoinsville, Tennessee. Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Sarah Bean; husband, Willie "Bill" Rosevelt Bass; son, Ronald Lee Bass; three brothers, Robert Bean, Claude Bean, and Fred Bean; two half-sisters, Mildred Lane and Joyce Golden. Blanche is survived by her son, William Robert Bass Sr. and wife Charlotte of Surgoinsville; two grandchildren, Allison Bass Russell and husband Chuck of Kingsport, William Robert Bass Jr. of Surgoinsville; seven great-grandchildren, Amanda Dian Russell, Christopher Frazier, Rocky McAninch Jr. and wife Ericka, Jonathan Russell, Amber Hatley and husband Curtis, Brandon Bass, and Haley Bass; six great-great-grandchildren, Gabriel Marshall, Eliza Sarah Frazier, Roswyn McConnell, Courtney Hatley, Caden Hatley, and Cailsey Hatley; two step-grandchildren, William "Bucky" Smith and Sara Smith Cheek; six step-great grandchildren, Joshua Russell, Amanda Kay Russell, Austin Smith, Sydney Smith, Brayden Cheek, and Kaitlyn Cheek; several nieces and nephews, extended family and lifelong friends. A special thank you to Signature Healthcare doctors, nurses, and staff. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2018 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home in Rogersville, and anytime at the home of her son, William Robert Bass Sr. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Evangelist Eulas Brown Jr. and Reverend Jesse Hartgrove officiating.
