He was born on February 25, 1934 in Ethridge, TN to the late Sally Lena Hannah and Dave Smith Bass. He was an Army Veteran, retired doing automotive work at the Ford Glass Plant, and was a member at the Bethel Church of Christ. Also, he loved farming, his cattle and nature. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Caity Hardiman, his brothers, David Bass, Grady Bass, Paul Bass, Butler Bass, and Robert Bass, and his sisters, Estelle Cosby, and Lena Mae Wilburn.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Stafford Bass of Stella Comm., TN, his daughters, Janie Bass Kimbrough and husband Kevin of Stella Comm., TN, and Jennifer Bass Kinlaw and husband Shawn of Pulaski, TN, and his grandchildren, Hunter Kimbrough, Hayden Kimbrough, Beth Kimbrough, Bella Kimbrough, Lindsey Owens, and Sawyer Kinlaw.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. when the Funeral Service will begin. The burial will follow in Stella Cemetery.
