Retired Hallsville Druggist Succumbs
Elmo Bass, Sr., 79, lifelong resident of Hallsville, died early Sunday morning at his residence in Hallsville following an illness of several days. The deceased was a well known retired druggist.
Funeral services, under the direction of Rains and Talley, Longview, were to be held Monday at 3 p.m. at the Hallsville Church of Christ with Jack White, minister, officiating. Interment was to be in the Hallsville cemetery.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sudie M. Bass, Hallsville; four daughters, Miss Syble Bass, member of the faculty of Longview Junior High school; Mrs. Ross Parker, Mrs. Lonnie Gallion, all of Hallsville; Mrs. Roy Whisenhunt, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Elbert Hunt, Hallsville; Mrs. Gordon Huffmaster, Little Rock, Ark., and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be: Jim Hunt, Grady Hall, Truitt Davis, Gilbert Bass, D.J. Lovelace, and John Johnson.
