Barbara (Davis) Bass
Barbara (Davis) Bass was born June 30,1930 to Conrad and Rebecca Davis in Montgomery, AL. She and her younger sister Carolyn moved with their parents several times, eventually coming to Durham, NC where Barbara met the love of her life, Woodrow P. Bass. They dated for exactly one year before marrying on December 30, 1950 in Wilson, NC where her parents now lived. The couple settled in Raleigh for a few years, then moved to Kinston and finally made their home in Fayetteville in 1958. Barbara was a good wife to "Woody" and a caring mother to their five children.
She was active in her church, Snyder Memorial Baptist, where she was heavily involved in Bible Study Fellowship, the choir, teaching Sunday School and visiting church members in the nursing homes. She loved our Lord and had a strong prayer life.
Barbara enjoyed her many friends, time by the ocean, sewing, crocheting, reading, traveling and she was a fantastic artist. She was generous, unassuming and caring.
Barbara is loved and will be missed. She is preceded in death by her husband Woodrow and is survived by children Allen Bass, Elaine Harris, Sandra Wiche, Julie Harris, David Bass; grandchildren Jessica, Eric, Rachel, Mark, Brittany and Carley; great grandchildren Olive, Hazel, Henry, Harrison and Madison.
