Gloria Jean Roy
Gloria (Bassett) Roy, 71, formerly of Newington, passed away peacefully to join her husband Robert and her son Richard, on June 24, 2017 in Prescott Valley, Arizona. She was the proud and much loved mother of Kenneth Roy. Gloria was the daughter of the late Dexter and Maud (Gardner) Bassett. She was the glue that kept her large family together with love, caring and understanding. She will be sorely missed by all of them, as well as her abundance of friends. Besides her son Kenny, she leaves behind four sisters, Frances Rooney, Betty Vennell, Joyce DePastino, Shirley Pribyson; three brothers, Charles Bassett, Donald Bassett, Albert Bassett; a much loved sister-in-law, Sharon Gazda; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A service with interment of her ashes will be held at West Meadow Cemetery in Newington on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM, where she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.
