Beatrice m. Bassett (1923-2016) (Picture included)
Beatrice M. Bassett, 93, a longtime Mentor resident, passed away December 30, 2016 at Briar Hill Nursing Home in Middlefield.
She was born March 30, 1923 in Cleveland.
Mrs. Bassett worked as a secretary at Continental Paint in Euclid before her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the Brentwood Garden Club in Mentor and enjoyed crafts and gardening.
Survivors are her children, Sandra (Thomas) Abromaitis, Nancy Roach and Bruce (Sharon) Bassett; granddaughter Carrie (Aaron Elersich) Bassett and great grandchildren London and Cate.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Robert D. Bassett; parents, Stephen and Margaret Secunde; sisters, Eleanor Bergum and Jeanne Patterson; and her son in law, Paul Roach.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anselm Church 12969 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026. (Please meet at the church.) The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. Interment will be at Mentor Cemetery.
