Mr. Bass was born October 10, 1918 in St. Cloud, Florida, to Tye and Maggie Bass. Mr. Bass was an Electrical Supervisor for the City of Fort Pierce for more than 35 years. Mr. Bass was an avid outdoorsman, he loved animals. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 50 years, Inez. Survivors include: three daughters, Judy Bass Summerall, Essie Mae (John) Steen, Barbara Jean Mathis all of Okeechobee; two sons, Glenn (Julie) Bass of Okeechobee and Richard (Donna) D. Bass, Jr. of Fort Pierce; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, May 12, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. also at Bass Okeechobee Funeral Chapel. Interment will be at White City Cemetery in Fort Pierce.
