Mrs. F. M. Bassett Dead
Died From Bright?s Disease Wednesday Morning
Death has again entered the Bassett home and removed one how will be missed most of all. Mrs. F.M. Bassett has been in poor health for a long time and the trouble finally developed in to Bright?s disease. She was taken to bed about two weeks ago and has failed rapidly. Sunday evening she had a spasm and remained unconscious until death came quietly at 2:30 o?clock this (Wednesday) morning. Every possible effort was put forth to restore her to health but he disease, as ever, proved incurable.
The funeral services will be held in the Methodist church Friday morning at 11 o?clock and the remains laid at rest in the family plot in the Baptist cemetery.
Miss Mary Hortense Manning was born Greenwood, March 13, 1855, and resided there with her parents until March 1, 1876, when she was married to Frank M. Bassett. They purchased a part of the Manning farm and lived there for a number of years. To this union three sons were born. Twenty-one years ago the family moved from Greenwood to this village and Mr. Bassett engaged in the hardware business. On March 4, 1897, Mr. Bassett died, and in a little more than one year one son, Berwick C., passed away.
Mrs. Bassett was a home-body and, while quiet, was most highly respected as a neighbor and friend. For many years she has been a faithful member of the Methodist church. Besides her many friends she laves two sons, Harry M. and Guy F., and one brother, C.S. Manning of Rochester, who have the sympathy of the entire community in this their great loss.
