A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Hattie Harwell Bass. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Frankewing Methodist Church. Funeral services were held at 10 a. m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Bennett-May Chapel, Larry Gillespie, Clarence K. Stewart, and Paul Allen officiating, with burial in Giles Memory Gardens.. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Virginia Birdsong Bass; one daughter, Mrs. Erlene Roller, Pulaski; one brother, Alton Bass, Pulaski; and two grandchildren.
