Hendren (nee Bassett), Karen Ann age 76 passed away Feb. 11, 2022 with family at her side. Karen is survived by her husband Dennis; children, Laura (Mike), Julie, and James, as well as her four sisters, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM at Faith United Methodist Church, 710 8th Street, Farmington, MN, on February 18, 2022, with a visitation 1 hr. prior to service. Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Karen Hendren, passed away with her family by her side on February 11, 2022, at the age of 76 years old. While she will be missed dearly, her kindness, love, and utter selflessness are a legacy that will endure in our family for generations to come.
Karen was born May 8, 1945, in rural Truman, Minnesota, to Donald and Melinda Bassett. After graduating from high school in 1963, Karen and her sister Joyce moved to Minneapolis, and Karen began working at National School Studios, where she met her husband of 56 years, Dennis. Together, they had three children, Laura, Julie, and James.
In 2000, Karen retired from National School Studios (LifeTouch) and spent her time tending a beautiful flower garden during the summer and volunteering at her church, Faith Methodist Church in Farmington. Dennis and Karen also enjoyed the many years they spent volunteering at the Village in Dakota City at the Dakota County Fairgrounds. She also enjoyed many trips with her sister Joyce and niece Carol, and nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
