Judith C. Bassett, 59, of Road 625S, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003, at her home.
She was a Cummins Engine Co. employee and member of Order of Eastern Star, Eagles Lodge and Diesel Workers Union.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Vernon Jewell?Nick Rittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Schryer officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 7 p.m. today and 1 p.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born Aug. 7, 1943, Mrs. Bassett was the daughter of Jesse and Evelyn Jewell Hilderbrand. She married Robert J. Bassett on Aug. 11, 1959.
She is survived by a son, Robert Bassett Jr. of Columbus; daughters, Rosetta Bassett and Sharon Streeval, both of Columbus, and Karen Schildknecht of North Vernon; brothers, Jesse Ralph, Samuel and William Hilderbrand, all of Columbus; sisters, Vivian Michael, Emma George, Alice Fields, Rebecca Shelton and Toni Jordan, all of Columbus, and Karen Cox of Missouri; grandchildren, Jesse, Keith and Thomas Bassett, Clint, Daniel and Sarah Streeval, and Judy, Jessika and Phillip Jones; step?grandchildren, Shi, Matt and Dillon Schildknecht; and five great?grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 12, 1997; and brothers, James Archie, Charles Lee, Clarence Alvin and Johnny Ray Hilderbrand.

The funeral for Judith C. Bassett, 59, of Road 625S was Monday at Vernon Jewell-Nick Rittman Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Schryer officiating.
Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Marty Cox, Lee Parks, Nick George, Sam Hilderbrand Jr., Nelson Shelton and Tim Hilderbrand. Honorary pallbearers were Herbie and Harold Cox.
Mrs. Bassett died Friday, May 30, 2003, at her home.
