Jack Dennis Bassett
Jack Dennis Bassett, 68, of Redding died Thursday at home. Arrangements are
pending at Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding (243-1525).

Jack Dennis Bassett (1942 – 2010)
Jack Bassett 68, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 2, 201
Born September 20,1942 to Noel and Iris Bassett of Fall River Mills, in
McCloud, CA.
Jack was a lifelong resident of Shasta County. Living in Fall River Mills for
48 years, where he attended school, graduated in 1960, worked in the lumber
industry and raised his family. He enjoyed playing golf and other outdo
activities with his family. Jack and family moved to Redding in 1990, where he
and son, Justin opened J.J.'S Bar and Grill in 1995. Although, the bar closed
in 2000, the business was moved to the Horse Racing Facility at Shasta
District Fairgrounds, where Jack ran the concession. He enjoyed the patrons of
"The Track" and giving them a good razzing. Jack was the type of person, that
if he wasn't picking on you, he was mad at you. He and his children served
beer at local fairs, where he loved meeting new friends and visiting with old.
His favorite was the Intermountain Fair, as Fall River Valley held a special
place in his heart.
Jack is survived by son, Justin and daughter in law, Semone Bassett of
Redding, CA, daughter Dana,son in law, Brian and granddaughter Paige Hathaway
of Oak Run, CA. Wife of 9 years, Charlotte, her children Matt, Joanna and Matt
Nehls, Chance Studder and Teara Studder and grandchildren Stephen, Marissa,
Matt, Trent and Addison. Brothers Harold Bassett and Dee Bassett both of Fall
River Mills.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, December 14th at the Shasta
District Fairgrounds Horse Racing Facility at 12:00 noon.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to Fort Crook Museum or charity of
choice.
