- Frederic H. Bassett, Sales Executive, 55
Frederic Harney Bassett, a district sales manager for the American Steel Foundries, died early yesterday at his home in Denver, Colorado. His age was 55.
Mr. Bassett joined the American Steel Foundries after receiving a mechanical engineerng degree from Cornell University in 1924. He also was a graduate of Lake Forest Academy and Bordentown Military Academy. During World War II he served as a Navy lieutenant on the aircraft carrier Steamer Bay in the Philippines.
He was born in Washington and was the son of the late Admiral and Mrs. Frederick Brewster Bassett. For some years in lived in Chicago while his father was on duty there.
Mr. Bassett was a member of the Mile High and Arlberg Ski Clubs in Denver, the Denver Club and Denver Country Club and the Union League and Tavern Clubs of Chicago.
His widow is the former Miss Mary Elizabeth Scriven of Chicago. Also surviving are a daughter, Miss Alicia Scriven Bassett, and two sons, William Harney and Frederick Brewster Bassett.
