In the name of God, Amen, I Burgess Bass of the county of Northampton and state of North Carolina being in Perfect Tranquility of mind do make and Ordain this my last will and Testament in the Manner and form following (That is to say)?
I give and bequeath to my loving wife, Charlotte Bass five Negroes (To wit) ??, Emmanuel, Lydia, Lucy, and big Isaac, also one Riding Chair, one Roan Horse, and one gray Mare, Two feather beds and furniture, one large looking glass and fifteen Pounds Virginia Money to be Raised out of my Estate to her and her heirs forever - Item. I give and bequeath to the Infant that my wife is now Pregnant with nine Negroes, to wit, Bob, Agg, Anna?, Ned, little Isaac, Simon, Patty, Judah, and Richmond, Lucy, Provided the said infant arrives to the age of 21 years or has an heir of his or her body lawfully begotten my will and desire that the legacy left the above mentioned Infant the equally divided between all the children of my sister Elizabeth Little to them and their heirs forever. ? Item My will and is that my land and Plantation and all the Rest of my Estate of every nature or kind not already disposed of be sold by my Executors snd the money from these arising to discharge my just debt and the overflow (if any) I give to the above mentioned Infant and lastly, I constitute and appoint my friends William Sykes and John Sykes, executors of this, my last willing testament revoking all other wills by me heretofore made.
