She died Monday in Englewood, Fla. Bass also served as a correspondent for the Daily News during the Russo-Japanese war. Mrs. Bass contributed articles to the Daily News while in Europe with her husband during World War I. She is survived by a grandson, John F. Bass III, and a brother, Charles Mann Bailey.
