YORK HARBOR – Kathleen “Kitty” Bassett, 82, passed away on Nov. 3, 2003, at
Harbor Home in York Harbor.
Kitty was the daughter of Elizabeth and Patrick Ryan of Littleton, N.H. She

walked daily at the Steeplegate Mall in Concord, N.H.
She moved to York in early 1999, following the death of her beloved, Tom, and
the progression of her Alzheimer’s disease. She was lovingly cared for by her
friends, the terrific staff at Harbor Home, and her children: Kathleen Bassett
of York, Tom Bassett Jr. of North Berwick, and Dianne Lavoie of Candia, N.H.
She was predeceased by two brothers, James and Patrick, and her son-in-law,
Bill Lavoie. In addition to her children she is survived by a grandson, Eric
Bassett of Norfolk, Va.; four sisters; Joan, Elizabeth, Roberta and
Bernadette. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home.
A funeral service followed the visitation. Interment will be at a later date
in Gilmanton, N.H. Donations may be made in Kitty’s name to the Alzheimer’s
Association, Maine Chapter, 163 Lancaster St., Suite 160, Portland, ME 04101-
