He had been in failing health for several year He was born in the town of Easton on Jan. 10, 1890, a son of the late George and Mabel (Burch) Bassett, but came to this community when a young boy. Mr. Bassett was a retired farmer, a member of the South Cambrid Methodist church and a charter member of Pleasant Valley Grang He leaves his wife, the former Verna Skiff; four daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Marian) Lee and Mrs. John (Arlene) McLoughlin Jr., both of Valley Fallas; Mrs. James D. (Helen) Austin Jr. of South Cambridge and Mrs. Robert (Audria) Gibbons of Eagle Bridge; two sisters, Mrs. E.R.
