Margaret A. “Maggie” Bassett (Picture included)
PRINCEVILLE - Margaret A. "Maggie" Bassett, 82, of Princeville died at 12:49
a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Heritage Manor in Chillicothe.
Maggie was born Feb. 11, 1927, in Mount Auburn, Ill., the daughter of Earl F.
and Inez Gladys Belcher O'Neal. She married Mason Lewis "Louie" Bassett on
April 28, 1946, in Alma, Ill. He died Aug. 4, 1984, in Hopedale, Il
Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Bonnie Donsbach.
Surviving are one son, Rick (Wendy) Bassett of Charleston, S.C.; four
grandchildren, Ricky (David Walker) Donsbach of Peoria, Todd Donsbach of
Melbourne, Fla., Candace (Michael) Tucker of Charlotte, N.C., and Vanes
Bassett of Columbia, S.C.; four great-grandchildren, Mikayla Walker, Co
Tucker, Linley Tucker and Katrina Donsbach; and one brother, Jimmy (Gladys)
O'Neal of Steelville, Ill.
Maggie was a line supervisor at L.R. Nelson in Peoria for many years, retiring
in 1995.
There will be no services but family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home, Princeville. Cremation
has been accorded and burial of ashes will be at a later date in Doolen
Cemetery, Vernon, Ill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heritage Manor, 1028
Hillcrest Drive, Chillicothe, IL, 61523.
