- Harold I. Bassett
Wabash - Harold Israel Bassett, 79, Rt. 4, Wabash, died at 7:55 p.m.
Monday in Miller's Manor East, Wabash.
Mr. Bassett, born in Shelby County, was a retired farmer. He was a
member of the Lincolnville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Margaret; a son, Richard
Wabash; two brothers, Ralph, Wabash, and William, Shelbyville; two sisters,
Mrs. Robert (Mary) Cooley, Kokomo, and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Cosand, Tucson,
Ariz.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Hunter Funeral Home, 104 S.
Main St., LaFontaine, with the Rev. Doug Barton officiating. Burial will be in
the Mt. Etna Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home Feb. 1,
1988.
Harold I. Bassett
Harold I. Bassett, 79, R.R. 4, died at 7:55 p.m. Monday at Miller's
Merry Manor East. He had been ill for one month.
He was born on May 8, 1908, in Shelby County to Ernest and Grace
(Bass) Bassett. He married Margaret Randoll on July 20, 1929. She survives.
A retired farmer, Mr. Bassett had lived in Wabash County since 1943,
coming from Kokomo. He was a member of the Lincolnville United Methodist
Church.
Also surviving are one son, Harold Gene Bassett, Wabash; two brothers,
Ralph Bassett, Wabash, and William Bassett, Shelbyville; two sisters, Mrs.
Robert (Mary) Cooley, Kokomo, and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Cosand, Tuscons, Ariz.;
three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hunter Funeral Home,
LaFontaine. The Rev. Doug Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Etna
Cemetery, Mt. Etna.
