Ann Gray
Ann Harris Bass, born September 29, 1920 in Humboldt, TN, daughter of Garry E. Harris and Emma Clark Tuttle Harris was called home June 29, 2016 to be with her Lord after a long and healthy life but a short period of illness. Ann was a member of United Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. She was an active and vital member of the Home Demonstration Club in Clarksdale, MS for many years and was involved in Coahoma... Woman's Club and the Clarksdale Woman's Club. Mrs. Bass was a charter member of the Explorer's Bible Study and continued on with Community Bible Study where she was a group leader. Ann enjoyed the last years of her life within the Methodist Senior Services care at Flowers Manor in Clarksdale, MS and Wesley Meadows in Hernando, MS from 1993 until the present.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents and brothers James Gary Harris, Thomas Alfred Harris, William (Billy) Harris, her son B. Hampton Bass III and her husband John Herman Gray, and Virginia Gray Jaeger.
Ann's surviving children are Beverly Bass Hegwood (Melvin), Dibbie Bass Foy (Lanny) and (Tish Bass Gardner). Grandchildren: Mel Hegwood, Jr. (Felicia), Truitt Hegwood (Kimberly), Boo Hegwood (John), Hamp Bass IV (Freeland), Buddy Bass, Brent Bass (Bridgette) Mandy Foy Finkley, Oakley Foy (Tammy), Spencer (Cate), Courtney Foy Lubozynski (Matt); Great Grandchildren: Mel Hegwood III, Jackson Hegwood, Christopher Hegwood, Blake Hegwood, Phillip Criss, Cathleen Criss, Rafe Criss, B Bass V, Meriwether Bass Johnson (Blake), Garrett Bass, Tish Bass, Yaeger Bass, Anna Christian Bass, Kate Hollis Bass, Sumpter Bass, Beau Finklea, Hampton Finklea, John Spencer Finklea, Landis Foy, Walker Foy, Hudson Foy, Miller Foy, Hank Lubozynski, Dibbie Lubozynski.
Romans 12:1 & 2 1. Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Flowers Manor in Clarksdale, MS or a charity of your choice. Visitation is Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.. Funeral Services are Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS.
