      Milford Bassett, 84, Onaga, died Saturday, September 12, 199
      Onaga community hospital. He was born September 13, 1907, in Cloud county, the
      son of George H. and Florence Kelly Bassett. He moved to the Laclede community
      and attended Laclede elementary school and Wamego high school. He was a farm
      worker in the Wamego community before he bought a farm near Concordia in 1941.
      He later farmed in the Wamego and Havensville communities.
      Mr. Bassett worked for Whelan's Lumber Co., in Topeka from 1954 to
      1971; He returned to his farm near Havensville and moved into Onaga after he
      retired in 1980. He was a member of the Christian church in Havensville; Odd
      Fellows lodges in Onaga and Louisburg, and Kansas Farm Burea
      He was married to Winifred George of Westmoreland December 23, 1933.
      She survives. Other survivors include a foster son, Loran D. George, Topeka;
      and two brothers, Roy B. Bassett, Washington, Mo., and Floyd Bassett, Wamego.
      Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, at the Christian chur
      Havensville. Burial was in Wamego city cemetery.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the Christian church in
      Havensville or the American Cancer Society.

      BASSETT, MILFORD

      ONAGA - Milford Bassett, 84, Onaga, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1992, at Onaga
      Community Hospital.

      He was born September 13, 1907, at Cloud County, the son of George H. a
      Florence Kelly Bassett. They moved to Wamego and he attended Wamego Elementary
      School. He worked as a farm hand in Wamego and Concordia before buying a farm
      in Havensville. Mr. Bassett worked for Wheeler Lumber Co. in Topeka from 1953
      to 1971. He returned to his farm in Havensville and retired to Onaga in 1980.

      He was a member of the Havensville Christ Church, Odd Fellows Lodge of Onaga
      and Kansas Farm Bureau.

      Mr. Bassett married Winifred George of Westmoreland on Dec. 23, 1933. S
      survives.

      Other survivors include two brothers, Roy B. Bassett, Washington, MO; Floyd
      Bassett, Wamego; and a a foster son, Loren D. George, Topeka.

      Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Havensville Cemetery. Mr. Bassett will
      lie in state today and Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Tessendorf Funeral Home
      in Onaga. Relatives and friends will meet Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the
      funeral home.
