Bernice B. Brown
Bernice B. Brown, 87, of Bremerton died of cancer Nov. 22, 2001, at Belmont
Terrace. She was born June 10, 1914, in Brewster to John Bassett and Jesse
Rennitt. She graduated from Broadway High School. She married Gustavus Brown
on June 9, 1946. He preceded in her in death in 1981. Mrs. Brown worked in the
federal civil service with the Navy until she retired in 1979. She enjoyed
fishing, bowling, traveling and reading. Survivors include one son, Lew
Herndon of California; one sister, Marianne Myers of Portland, Oreg.; four
grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral
will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, 5303 Kitsap Wa
Bremerton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1551
Broadway, Suite 200, Tacoma, WA 98402.
