BASSETT - In Buzzards Bay, July 21, Gertrude M. (Ransom) of Buzzards Bay. Wife
of the late George C. Bassett. Mother of George C. Bassett, Jr. of Buzzards
Bay, Everett Bassett of East Wareham, Ruth Ferrari of Sagamore, Elizabe
Chapman and Mary Hodge, both of Buzzards Bay, Barbara McGinty of Kissimmee,
FL., and Dorothy Manter of Wareham. 23 grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews also survive. Daughter of the late Charles C. & Emma (Chase) Ransom.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be conducted in the
Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd. (Rt. 28) Bourne, MA on
Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 a.m. with Burial to follow in Agawam Cemetery in
Wareham. Visitation will precede the service from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to a charity
of your choice.
Gertrude M. Bassett, 90
BUZZARDS BAY - Gertrude M. Bassett, 90, of Tucy Avenue, died at Cape Cod
Nursing Home Tuesday, July 21, 1998. She was the widow of George C. Bassett
and daughter of the late Charles C. and Emma W. (Chase) Ranso
Born in Freetown, she came to Buzzards Bay in 1931 from her home in
Onset.
Mrs. Bassett had been a homemaker. She had been a member of the
Wednesday Morning Singers and past president and member of the World War One
Barracks.
Survivors include two sons, Everett Bassett of East Wareham and George
C. Bassett Jr., of Buzzards Bay; five daughters, Elizabeth Chapman and Mary
Hodge, both of Buzzards Bay, Ruth Ferrari of Sagamore, Dorothy Manter of
Wareham and Barbara McGinty of Kissimmee, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-
grandchildren; 7 great grand-children; and many nieces and nephew
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Nickerson-Bourne
Funeral Home, 40 MacArthur Blvd., Bourne.
Arrangements are by the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home.

BUZZARDS BAY - Gertrude M. Bassett, 90, a homemaker, died Tuesday at the Cape
Cod Nursing Home in Buzzards Bay.
She was the wife of George C. Bassett, who died in 197
Mrs. Bassett was born in Freetown and moved to Buzzards Bay in 1931
from Onset.
She was a member of the Wednesday Morning Singers and past president
and member of the World War I Barracks.

from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in Agawam Cemeter
Wareham.
