Barbara Jean Bassett
Barbara Jean Bassett, 72, of Apex, affectionately known by many as “Aunt
Barbara”, peacefully fell asleep in death on Saturday, March 7, 2009 after her
courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born to the late Ernest and
Esther (Brown) Smith on February 12, 1937 in Blossburg, PA. Her love for
Jehovah was exemplified by her strong zeal in helping others to learn about
the bible for over 40 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother,
endearing friend, and always putting others before herself. She will always be
remembered for her loving disposition and affectionate smile. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Charles “Charlie” Bassett and sister, Jane Bubacz and
her husband Tom. She is survived by her daughter, Regina Tourblefield; her
son-in-law, Chad; as well as three grandsons, Tyler, Dakota, and Cole, all of
Apex. Also, her two nieces: Becky Heath and her husband, Ron of Fuquay-Varina,
Chrissy Troublefield and her husband, Brent and their son Tucker of Cary; her
nephew, Ricky Bubacz of Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial service will be held on
Saturday, March 14, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the Congregation of Jehovah’s
Witnesses, 270 Towerview Ct., Cary NC. The family would like to express their
sincere appreciation to family and friends for their generous, loving support.
